Manila Adventures - Chapter 1

The Philippines is very different to Devon, well if you can ignore the driving. I haven't seen a single tractor since I've been here, no sheeps apart from on a BBQ and it is very very loud, how's a small monkey supposed to get his beauty sleep.

It took me ages to recover from the flying coach, I had no idea what the time was, whether it was breakie time or suppery time!

Manila is a crazy crazy place! It is very hot, very loud, but the people are very very friendly!

First thing I had to do was to work out how many Pesos there are to a lump of monkey gold, well as Dad broke my sun glasses I was going to need a new pair (although I have stolen Dad's Ray Bands). We met Mum's old friends and I was introduced to the local brew, San Migual Light! Eeeeeuuuuuuuggggghhhhhh……it's not London pride is it???? Dad says that's cold and wet, and with only 100 calories it's good for his waistline!!!! There are lots of nice things to eat, but they all come with rice……very confused…….KFC chicken..and rice! Fish and…rice, burger….and rice! Can't get a baked spud for love nor money!!!!! Got very excited when I saw "Kenny Rogers-Roasters'" restaurant (I got a bit confused coz I though they were roasting potatoes, but no, more chicken…..with rice!!!!)

Anyway I guess that after 6 months I will love rice just like my Mum and Dad!!!!

The other strange thing is haw quickly day becomes night! It just happens, one minute it's daytime the next it's night! Unlike Devon the temperature remains the same, Dad says that I would feel better if I took a cold shower! B&*ger that! I've had my bath this year!!!!

Travelling around on public transport is very busy, Dad and Mum say it's worse that London! I quite like the Jeepneys though, bit like a jeep with the body of a bus and very cheap to ride on!

Anyway gotta run……San Miguel time!!!!
