Hola Señoras y señores, t'is I Eduardo da Lovemonkey!!!!
Now...I was very worried about travelling to Spain because I'd read of all the English bank and train robbers living in glorious exile there, drinking cheap larger and smearing themselves in chip pan fat for that 'all over even tan'. Not the sort of behaviour a young travelling monkey should have to come into contact with!!!!! More worryingly this my first major trip without my own transportation! I mean I can't be expected to walk everywhere especially the speed M+D sprint of at, crikey I've only got little legs and feets! Thank goodness for Dad's camera bag or I'd have missed out on all the city action!
Rudely awoken at 2:30 am, bundled into the car, bundled out of the car, put through an x-ray machine (I'm not carrying any monkey nuts Mr Border control blokey) strapped into a plane seat (quite like that bit) up in the air, down out of the air we finally arrived in the city of Barcelona - magnífico!

And what a city! Except for the small issue of the airport not having a single ATM! M+D didn't have a single Euro on them! Thank goodness we could buy tickets on the trusty VISA card! From the airport we jumped on a train which was very smart, had air conditioning and everything, travelled for about 20 minutes and jumped off at Sants. Err...does anyone know how to get to the hotel from here? Never fear, with the help of local tourist information and a lovely man who showed us exactly where we were on the map, we arrived at our Spanish digs, albeit a little sweaty just in time for a little Merienda!!
Oooooo 'hello lovely Spanish lady!!!!

Barcelona....the weather is warm, the people stylish and friendly, the food scummy and the beer is cool - Perfecto!
Home to the Catalonian artist Antoni Gaudí, Barcelona is a eclectic (big word for a small simian) mix of the old town with it's higgledy-piggledy streets featuring shops selling curios, coffee, fruit and in one place sheep heads, blended together with golden sand beaches and a modern harbour. (Eat yer heart out trip advisor).
Speaking of Merienda, he's a spiffing paella!

Washed down with the local loony juice!

Ooooo nearly forgot.........here's some Guadi! The Sagrada Familia! Be lovely when it's finished!

As you can imagine we walked for 3 1/2 days around the city which played havoc with the old man's feets... Strangely he developed blisters! I'll spare you the details dear readers!
Anyway I'd best crack on, time is money and all that!
More later....Stay tuned!
muchas gracias!!!!
Ed!!!
