Edward Travel Philippines

Airplane flight morocco

Nothing, I mean nothing beats a journey, apart from a good bacon butty now that comes close! I've tried to calculate the number of monkey miles I've travelled in 5 years. The answer? Well quite a few!

Mum and Dad can't stand airports, me? T'is all a blur usually because I'm hiding in Dad's rucksack especially through security (I really, really don't like the x-ray thingamabob, I mean who wants to see me stuffing) but once clear I am happy to roam duty free usually in search of a good Eau de Cologne, well, you wouldn't want to sit next to a stinky monkey for 8 hours..would you?

I like planes..a lot. All the lovely, lovely ladies are really smashing and let me sit next to Dad instead of being thrust into the overhead baggage storage along with those cuddly toy things. I remember the time we flew to Tacloban in the Philippines to deliver some relief aid. Due to the fact our first flight was cancelled as a result of rubbish weather we were given a big Jollybee portion of chicken and rice as compensation! Lovely!

Tricycle ride Philippines

Jeepneys and tricycles are a cheap way of travel especially in Asia and I can honestly say that traveling on the roof rack of a tricycle is a truly magnificent albeit slightly dusty way of seeing the world!!!

The Jeepney is the Filipino equivalent of the Red London Bus,many are vibrantly decorated, many have sound systems even my mate Craig Charles would be proud of! No air conditioning just open windows allowing the gentle aroma of Metro Manila to flow through........

Sadly many are very very old and quite run down, combining this with some of the busiest roads in the world can make for quiet a hair (or fur) raising experience!

Road Trip Travel Wales

I love UK road trips! The freedom to travel at your own pace and to your own often unplanned destinations. Pack as much as you want and take as many toilet breaks as are needed especially if diet coke is involved, ahh the open road!!!!!

During 2012 we took a 1700 mile trip around England and Wales in Keith our geriatric but always reliable Vauxhall Corsa. Starting In Devon we travelled to Cumbria via Wales, across the Yorkshire Dales, up to the North East and back down to the South West coast! Much diet coke was drunk and many toilet stops were had!!!!!

More recently 2 trips to Scotland. Bella the Punto was first to take us to Argyll and Bute, followed by Proud Percy the Fiat Panda who took us all the way to the Highlands to see Uncle Boyd who lives in Ullapool!

Car ferry Isle of wight

Camper van business class

Camper Vans/ Mobile homes are great fun! especially in business class!!!

Cuba genesis bus station

Of course travelling sometime require a very very early start. Not good if your a small monkey requiring your beauty sleep!!!!!! I mean 3:39am!

Online travel booking

The key to a successful venture is research. My Mum is very good a sourcing an online deal. However all the best laid plans....

More later TTFN Ed xx
